We sell both natural and laboratory-grown diamonds. This is how we keep them clearly apart, in line with the Australian Consumer Law's rules against misleading descriptions.
1. How we describe them
- "Laboratory-grown diamond" is written in full, right next to the word diamond, with equal weight. We don't use the bare abbreviation on its own.
- We don't use "cultured" or similar words without that qualifier.
- We don't make environmental claims we cannot substantiate.
2. Where it applies
On the website, on the trade portal, on quotes, on invoices and on packing labels.
3. Certificates
Lab-grown stones are sold with lab-grown reports from IGI or GIA where available, and the report states that the stone is laboratory-grown. GIA reports issued from 1 October 2025 give a Premium or Standard assessment; earlier GIA reports give colour and clarity grades.
4. Keeping stock apart
Natural and laboratory-grown stones are stored, listed and invoiced separately.
5. Your obligations
If you resell a lab-grown diamond bought from us, you must disclose it as laboratory-grown to your own customers.
6. Terms for laboratory-grown stones
Australian law and industry codes accept "laboratory-grown". We say laboratory-grown in full, next to the word diamond. A synthetic diamond is the same thing.
7. Report a concern
If you think a stone has been described wrongly, use Report a problem on the order or contact us.
